Museum Archives

The Spencer Museum of Art archives comprise the repository of records for the art collection at the University of Kansas. Records date back to the founding gift of art from Sallie Casey Thayer in 1917 and continue through the present. Archives include documents, photographs, audio-visual material, publications, media coverage, and correspondence documenting the history of the Spooner-Thayer Museum, the University of Kansas Museum of Art, and the Helen Foresman Spencer Museum of Art. The processing of archive materials is currently focused on exhibitions and publications related to the collection.
