Against Memoir: Complaints, Confessions & Criticisms
LAWRENCE ARTS CENTER, 940 NEW HAMPSHIRE ST
Reading from her recent book, Michelle Tea blurs the line between telling the stories of others and telling her own. She turns an investigative eye to the genre that’s nurtured her entire career—memoir—and considers the extent to which art preys on life. Tea is the author of several memoirs and poetry collections, and is the winner of a Lambda Literary Award for Best Lesbian Fiction. This event is presented in conjunction with the Lawrence Free State Festival.
