August 20CIVIL WAR ON THE BORDER BLEEDING KANSAS BUS TOURS
Watkins Museum of History, 1047 Massachusetts St
This tour will take visitors to a series of stops related to the Bleeding Kansas conflict, including a special display of prints by Jacob Lawrence about abolitionist John Brown at the Spencer Museum. These two-hour tours are offered at 9AM, 12PM, and 3PM and require tickets purchased in advance. This event is part of Civil War on the Border, Douglas County's annual heritage festival on August 20–22 commemorating Quantrill's Raid and Lawrence's role in the Civil War.
