Trevor Guinn is a junior double-majoring in geography and public administration. He is interested in researching social and economic dynamics of urban development, as well as the policies and movement of people that create the urban experience. He is passionate about social and environmental equity, as well as creating healthy, thriving communities for marginalized peoples. Guinn is a previous student of Haskell Indian Nations University and has worked closely with KU Professor Jay T. Johnson through the Haskell Environmental Research Studies program. Guinn’s studies of sustainability, environmental justice, and socio-economic issues has fostered his interest in investigating the intersectionality of LGBT and Native identities in urban policy and environmental research. During his fellowship, Guinn will work with Johnson on a project with Haskell Indian Nations University related to environmental activism in the Wakarusa wetlands.
