Camacho is a philosopher of biology with interests bordering developmental, molecular, and evolutionary biology. His research with IARI explores the intersection of the biosciences and the arts. He has collaborated with Stephen H. Goddard, Associate Director and Senior Curator, on an exhibition that explores the complex relationship between humankind and the plant world, and is also helping organize a symposium featuring artists whose work draws from the botanical sciences. Currently, Camacho’s personal work explores the descriptive accuracy, practicality, and philosophical import of principles that purport to capture evolutionary and developmental processes. He also has interests in the history of philosophy, ethics, and game theory.
