Strategic Communications

Victoria Garcia Unzueta is a fourth-year strategic communications major and global international studies minor from Dodge City, Kansas. Victoria works as the social media coordinator for the Project on the History of Black Writing and is an REU Fellow with KU’s Center for Digital Inclusion. Through the REU fellowship, they work with Professor Hyunjin Seo and the RETURN project, which provides STEM education to women recently released from jail or prison. As the Fall 2022 IARI Fellow, Victoria will continue her work with Professor Seo as well as Curator Joey Orr and artist Sarah Newman to create an interactive, community-based exhibit that will raise awareness to the obstacles faced by these women and provide a space for them to tell their stories. Victoria is excited to work on the project and explore how technology and art can be combined to tell a story.
