Olivia Johnson
Spring 2021
Mathematics and Dance
Olivia Johnson is a sophomore from Clive, Iowa, double-majoring in mathematics and dance. As the Spring 2021 Undergraduate Research Fellow, Johnson will work to discover the similarities between STEM fields and the arts. She is passionate about this project, which seeks to uncover how mathematics and dance aren't as different as they appear. Johnson will work with ARI Faculty Fellow Agnieszka Międlar and artist Janet Biggs to explore the ways that math, science, and art can be combined. By utilizing the different strengths of each field, they will develop novel ideas as only transdisciplinary research can.
