Public Master Class: Robert van Sice and the KU Percussion Studio

Event description

Internationally renowned performer of contemporary marimba music, Robert van Sice leads a master class for KU percussion students against the backdrop of the Museum’s Sol LeWitt: Wall Drawing 519. Open for the public to enjoy, the class includes a discussion of minimalism in the arts and its influence on van Sice’s creative work and teaching practices. Van Sice has given more than 400 master classes in 25 countries. He teaches at Yale University, the Curtis Institute of Music, and Johns Hopkins’ Peabody Institute. Join us for the talk at 1:00 and stay as long as you like, or drop in at your convenience. This is a qualifying event for students seeking Arts Engagement certification.
