Geometric Patchwork Quilts
Geometric Patchwork Quilts
Janet Dreiling, curator
Spencer Museum of Art, University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas

An exhibition of 25 geometric patchwork quilts selected from the Museum’s collection by Registrar Janet Dreiling. The quilts are noteworthy for dynamic visual effects and abstract qualities that suggest movement and illusion. Included in the show is “Tents of Armageddon,” made of over 400 triangles of white cotton and rose calico, creating an illusion of continuous movement.
