Label texts

Archive Label 2003: Arthur Hall is known as one of the preeminent etchers of the Prairie Print Makers, a Kansas-based organization that included some of the finest artists in the United States among its members. To accentuate the bleakness of the winter sky in Village Under Snow, Hall left an almost imperceptible film of ink along the upper edge of his etching plate prior to printing. The resulting gray tone in the print suggests an impending snowstorm.
