Exhibition Label: "Art for Kansas: Building the Collection, 1988-1998 (Recent Acquisitions)," Nov-1998, John Pultz and Susan Earle Jan Groover is one of the most important photographers of her generation. Although Groover began her artistic career as an abstract painter, she fell in love with photography. She used the camera and its images as tools in the documentation of motion in early conceptual works. Groover has worked almost exclusively with still-life subjects since 1978.
