At first glance, this image may look like a patchwork of muted browns and greens broken up by strong diagonal and horizontal lines. It is actually an aerial photograph of farmland. The artist Terry Evans took the photo while flying over the prairie. Evans said she began taking these types of photos to see if the prairie looked the same from above. Although no people are visible in this photo, there is evidence of human activity in the parallel rows of planted fields. How do you imagine your town would look if you saw it from above? What do you think Terry Evans is telling us about the prairie?
