Debut
In the Christian faith, Nuestra Senora de la Soledad (Our Lady of Solitude) is a title given to Mary, the mother of Jesus. It is used in Spanish-speaking countries to commemorate the solitude and grief of Mary on Holy Saturday, the night before Easter Sunday, when the body of Jesus lay in his tomb. Figures like this one that were carved in the round are referred to as revultos or bultos.
