Teaching Gallery: Coptic Textiles
Due to the double-cross bars in between each duck this may be a Christian textile. Two of the edges of the textile are a wavy design known as “running dog.” What is the relationship between the double-cross bars and Christianity? Why are the two connected? What is “running dog” symbolic of? Is it symbolic of something?
