Event description

Potter Lake was built in 1910 as a water source to put out potential fires on campus. Now it is home to many different kinds of plants and animals. Learn about the history and inhabitants of Potter Lake and how they have been affected by human activities on a tour led by KU Field Ecology students Michael Leech, Neal Niceswanger, and Colton Trowbridge. The tour begins at the Campanile on Memorial Drive (https://goo.gl/maps/p88J9PteZa7UNvNeA) and moves around the perimeter of the lake. Contact the Museum for accessibility accommodations. This program is part of the Spencer Museum’s Backyard Bash, a series of installations and other activations in Marvin Grove and other green spaces across campus from October 21 to November 12.

Co-sponsors: Spencer Museum of Art and KU Field Ecology students
