Collection Cards: Land
here-ing is a labyrinth, or twisting path, in the shape of an ear on land north of Lawrence. The title is a play on words: “hearing” with your ears is a way of being “here” or present in a place. The artist, Janine Antoni, encourages us to listen to the land with our whole bodies. Take a moment to sit in silence. What can you hear? You can visit here-ing and walk the labyrinth any time from dawn to dusk. Learn more about the work and how to get there: https://www.spencerart.ku.edu/iari/inquiries/here-ing
