Exhibition Overview

Teaching Gallery: Voicing America
July 16, 2013–August 4, 2013
Gallery 319, Spencer Museum of Art, University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas
Voicing America takes as its premise the idea that poetry moves through space and time; poetry is visual, aural and oral; and that visual artists are poets. In dialogue with works from the Spencer Museum collection, the exhibition features photographs by Dr. C.B. Claiborne of Texas Southern University.
