African-American artist Glenn Ligon combines image and text to create works of art about issues of race and sexual orientation. This exhibition featured prints imitating historical documents such as runaway slave posters or title pages from 19th century biographies. Circulated by Max Protech Gallery. The prints from the SMA collection were not part of the travelling exhibition.
