Albert Bloch: Prints and Drawings
Exhibition Overview
Prints, drawings, and watercolors by Bloch (1882-1961) in an exhibition in conjunction with the 16th annual symposium of the society of German-American Studies at KU. Albert Bloch was the only American ever to exhibit with Der Blaue Reiter (The Blue Rider) group in Germany and he had a long association with Karl Krauss and artists Wassily Kandinsky and Franz Marc. Bloch returned to the U.S. in 1921 and joined the KU faculty in 1923, where he was director of the Department of Drawing and Painting until his retirement in 1947.
