Letter Writing Club: Address the Nation
Event date, time, and location
Event description
In honor of National Letter Writing Month, the Spencer Museum is teaming up with Wonder Fair to present a special edition of their Letter Writing Club. The collaboration weaves together the art of letter writing with the 2017 KU Common Book, Ta-Nehisi Coates's "Between the World and Me," (a novel written in the form of a letter to the author's son,) and the Spencer Museum's accompanying exhibition "American Dream." Letter writers will meet at the Spencer to experience the exhibiton and enjoy an opportunity to write throughout the museum. This program is also in presented in partnership with the third annual Write_On campaign, created by stationers Hello Lucky and Egg Press. That means the first 30 lucky attendees will receive free Write_On letter-writing kits featuring 6 letterpress printed cards, 6 custom printed envelopes, 1 sheet of Write_On stickers, and 1 color-coordinated Gelly Roll pen. We know what you're thinking: "But pens are not allowed in the galleries!" Worry not, we'll have pencils on hand for you, too. Whether you’re a veteran letter writer or a new recruit, please plan to join us with your letter writing supplies in tow. Light refreshments provided and free parking available behind the Museum.
