Narrative quilt artist, educator, and organizer of the National African American Quilt Convention Marla Jackson discusses the life and work of Maria Rodgers Martin, a former slave who was brought to Lawrence in the 1860s and who made two quilts featured in the exhibition Narratives of the Soul. This public talk is presented in conjunction with the National African American Quilt Convention.
