Inspired by trade routes that flourished from the second century BCE to the mid fifteenth century, this online symposium highlights how artworks, design, trade goods, medicine, religion, and people traveled and stimulated new cultural forms and ideas. Speakers outline a dynamic pattern of cross-cultural exchange between Asia, Africa, and beyond that continues today. For the complete schedule and to register, visit https://arthistory.ku.edu/events.
