Event description

The Spencer Museum of Art and the KU School of Music present the video premiere of “There Will Come Soft Rains.” This performance was commissioned by the Museum to accompany the exhibition Audubon in the Anthropocene, which featured prints by Matthew Day Jackson each titled after a line in Sara Teasdale's poem “There Will Come Soft Rains.” The piece was composed by KU doctoral student Allison McIntosh and performed by The Meadowlark Project. McIntosh set the poem's text to music and conceived an immersive performance in the Spencer Museum’s galleries. The project was reimagined due to the Covid-19 pandemic and recorded in isolated sessions at Swarthout Recital Hall and the Spencer Museum August 17–20, 2020. This video will premiere live on our Facebook page on Friday, May 21 at 1:30 PM: https://www.facebook.com/spencerart/posts/4279313662120054
