Event description

The iconic beat author and poet William S. Burroughs, known for his vivid, hallucinatory descriptions of life as a heroin junkie, was a driving, influential force whose work impacted the literary, music and film worlds. The Final Academy Documents showcases the artist at his best, with rare footage of Burroughs reading "Place of the Dead Roads" at Manchester's infamous Hacienda Club in 1982. Also includes Ghosts at Number 9 and Towers Open Fire, two rarely-seen, early 1960's, experimental film collaborations with Brion Gysin and Anthony Balch. 120 minutes.
