Event description

After teaching at The Ohio State University for 10 years, Deborah Horrell chose full-time studio practice and moved to Portland, Oregon. The artist has a history of changing both visual vocabulary and material. For instance, an artist-in-residence position at the Pilchuck Glass School, and a residency at the Bullseye Factory changed the trajectory of her work: after years of working primarily with ceramics and wood, Horrell made a shift to using glass as a primary sculptural medium. Horrell teaches workshops nationally/internationally, and is represented by the Elizabeth Leach Gallery. She has shown her work in museums and galleries and has completed public and private commissions.
