Osage Nation artist and KU associate professor of painting Norman Akers will welcome guests to his studio and speak about how he utilizes iconic Osage symbols in his paintings and prints, overlaying them on landscapes both real and imagined. Akers is one of five contemporary Native American artists featured in Heartland Reverberations.
