“The Art of Jaune Quick-to-See Smith” For Junior High School Students June 20-23; 1-3 p.m. A class on works by contemporary Native American artist Jaune Quick-to-See Smith from the exhibition 40,000 Years of American Art: The Work of Jaune Quick-to-See Smith. Students will learn how Smith’s work addresses the history and myths and of her ancestors in the context of current issues facing Native Americans; then create a work with repousee or metal embossing. Instructor: Sandy Groene. $50/$40 for Friends of the Art Museum children
