Event description

The Art Cart is a drop-in activity station where families and other groups can enjoy hands-on art projects together, taking inspiration from the works on view in the Museum's galleries. This month's activity focuses on masks. With a dynamic egungun mask now on display in the Roots & Journeys exhibition, families can learn about the significance of masks in Yoruba culture, look closely at the mask in our collection, then create masks of their own using the materials provided. Individual groups may spend as little or as much time as they like on their projects. Parking is free behind the Museum on weekends.
