Dyes and Dyers in Laos

Natural dye master Michele Wipplinger delivers a public talk in conjunction with "The Substance of Color", a short-term Teaching Gallery exhibition exploring the historic role of color in East Asia, grounded in the idea that colors possessed transformative powers associated with plants from which they originated. Wipplinger consults and lectures internationally on color, and has more than thirty years of experience in creating repeatable hues using natural, non-toxic substances.
