Event description

Join us for this festive reception and artists’ talk for "An Errant Line: Ann Hamilton / Cynthia Schira." Both internationally acclaimed artists will be present to celebrate and discuss their installation of newly commissioned work, which has transformed several of the Museum’s galleries. Visiting lecturer Joan Simon will join the artists in conversation in the auditorium from 6-6:45 PM (this lecture is sponsored by the Franklin D. Murphy Lecture Fund; the Murphy Lecture series is co-sponsored by the Kress Foundation Department of Art History and the Spencer Museum of Art at the University of Kansas, and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art). A reception follows the talk. Visitors are also encouraged to enjoy "Empire of Things", the newest thematic installation of objects from the Spencer’s collections.
