This class will focus on the works by contemporary Native American artist Jaune Quick-to-See Smith from the special exhibition 40,000 Years of American Art: The Work of Jaune Quick-to-See Smith. Students will learn how Smith’s work addresses the history and myths and of her ancestors in the context of current issues and problems facing Native Americans and metal repousse work.
