Art Cart: African Beading

This month, the Art Cart will be stationed in the Roots and Journeys exhibition, where objects representing African and Native American cultures feature intricate beadwork. The activity focuses on necklaces by the Maasai peoples of East Africa. After learning about the objects on display, children and their grown-ups will be provided beads in many colors and sizes to create vividly patterned adornments of their own. Groups can spend as little or as much time at the Art Cart as they like. Both admission and parking are free.
