Did the Great Depression set the stage for the post-World War II boom? Join Phi Beta Kappa Visiting Scholar Alexander Field to explore the relationship between these periods and the lessons that apply to today's economic climate. Field is the Michel and Mary Orradre Professor of Economics at Santa Clara University. Executive Director of the Economic History Association from 2004 to 2012, he has served as associate editor of the Journal of Economic Literature and editor of Research in Economic History.
