here-ing the seasons: summer

Event date, time, and location

7:30–8:30PM
Roth Trailhead, KU Field Station, 2055 E 1600 Rd

Event description

Celebrate the changing seasons in 2025: Join KU Field Station staff members for the second of a series of seasonal walks, each marking an equinox or solstice. Together, we will walk the "here-ing" labyrinth created by artist Janine Antoni, and welcome each new season with intention and connection to the land. With the arrival of summer, wildflowers bring bursts of color to the "here-ing" landscape, drawing pollinators and other wildlife whose movements and sounds create a hum of seasonal activity.
What to expect: The "here-ing" labyrinth is a narrow dirt path created and sustained by footsteps. It is approximately one mile (a loop) long and takes about an hour to walk in and out. Elevation change is minimal.
Wear: Closed-toed shoes and long pants. Bring a water bottle.
This event is free, but please email wendyholman@ku.edu to register and for weather updates.
