Director's Remarks

You are here for a milestone in the life of the Spencer Museum of Art.

The Phase I renovation has transformed our physical spaces, generating opportunities for expanding how we inspire creativity, learning, and research. Functioning for more than one year without our galleries has stimulated new ways of working and new partnerships, resulting in a Spencer Museum of Art that is more versatile and better equipped to benefit all of our audiences.

Now is a significant moment for our revitalized institution, as we reaffirm our roles as a portal for self-discovery and lifelong learning, an amplifier for creative work and scholarly discourse, and a platform for diving deeply into new ideas and approaches.

I invite you to take part in this historic moment. Experience our transformed galleries, explore our redesigned website, or participate in our programs. However you choose to connect with us, astonishing possibilities await you.
