Biography

Rachel M. Straughn-Navarro has a PhD in art education with a research focus on information science and learning technologies and museum studies from the University of Missouri. She is the School and Educator Engagement Coordinator at the Spencer Museum of Art and program co-director of Partners in Education Across Kansas (PEAK). Straughn-Navarro’s research and practice interests include museological and art history pedagogies, professional development for K–12 teachers; and social-emotional learning and care ethics in museums. In 2018, she was awarded Art Museum Educator of the Year from the Missouri Art Education Association.
