Esquire Photographs
Thomas Southall, curator
White Gallery, Spencer Museum of Art, University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas

Brash and irreverent photographs by Bruce Davidson, Lee Friedlander, Duane Michaels, Helmut Newton, Art Kane, Andy Warhol, and others whose works appeared in the pages of Esquire Magazine between 1960 and 1976 will be on view in the White Gallery. The 110 photographs were selected from the collection of artworks recently given to the University by Esquire, Inc. The photographs in this exhibition are notable because of the importance of the photographers. Arranged by Thomas Southall with an art history class, the exhibition includes 110 photographs, most of which have never been seen outside of the pages of Esquire, and a least one of which was never published.
