Exhibition Label: "Views of Vietnam," Oct-2006, Steve Goddard Duane Michals worked as a photographer for Esquire and Mademoiselle magazines prior to his recognition by the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1970. This impressive lineup of “Dove Generals” who opposed the Vietnam War accompanied the article by James Deakin, “Big Brass Lambs … Does the Military Think in Unison about Vietnam?” in the December 1967 edition of Esquire (see adjacent case).
