Exhibition Label: "Constructions of Place: Architecture in Photography," Jan-1991, Erin Barnett Stereograph views of urban streets were widespread in the 1860s. Two photographs of the same scene were taken from slightly different viewpoints. When seen together through a special viewer with two lenses, the photograph appears to have depth.
