Brosseau Center for Learning: Centenarians

Will Barnet attended the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and moved to New York in 1931 to study at the Art Students League with $10 and a portfolio of seascapes and portraits of the family cat. Four years later he was appointed the League’s official printer. He worked in graphic arts for the Depression-era WPA. Barnet received a National Medal of Arts in 2011 from President Obama. He worked into his 90s.
