Exhibition Label: “Big Shots: Andy Warhol, Celebrity Culture and the 1980s,” Aug-2009, Susan Earle Rock and roll legend Mick Jagger was a friend of Warhol’s and spent time with him at the Factory and elsewhere. Warhol took a photo one evening of Jagger and writer William S. Burroughs at dinner, presumably at Warhol’s home. Warhol also created at least one of his iconic photo¬silkscreen portraits of Jagger in 1975-76. This photograph of Jagger was one of two by Kevin Lawrenson that appeared in the June 1969 issue of Esquire magazine.
