Empowerment

Ruth Harris Bohan captures her subject, identified only as Hilda, in a contemplative mood. The natural light source and corresponding shadows set a relaxed tone. Hilda gazes past the viewer with her hand gently supporting her face. Her ruffled blouse contrasts with the background sketch of three nudes on the wall behind her. Although we do not know Hilda’s identity, her portrait sheds a little light on her personality.
