The waterfowl among willow trees and tall reeds decorating the interior of this bowl were incised by hand. At the center is a ring of stamped cloud-shaped designs encircling a bouquet of chrysanthemums. These motifs were the most popular on Koryo celadons.

The exterior of this bowl is decorated with reverse inlay, a technique in which the background is carved out and filled with white slip. The design thus consists of a floral pattern surrounded and defined by a white-slip background.

The combining of various inlay techniques, along with the tendency to fill up more and more of the surface with inlaid design, are characteristics of inlaid celadon wares after the second half of the thirteenth century.
