Looking After: Art and Care in Education Across Kansas

The American Bison was chosen as a symbol of the prairie ecology of Kansas in 1955 and became the official United States mammal in 2016. Patricia DuBose Duncan’s photography was instrumental in the creation of the National Tallgrass Prairie Reserve in the Flint Hills of Kansas, where historically bison roamed in abundance and were reintroduced in 2009.
