Exhibition Label: "Printed Art and Social Radicalism," Jun-2002, Stephen Goddard Rupp is an activist artist who has recently taken aim at genetically engineered food. Rat Poster was a mass-produced image that was applied to buildings in lower Manhattan (especially around City Hall) during a garbage strike in 1979. This poster campaign was dubbed the “Rat Patrol” and drew attention to issues of civic responsibility, health and sanitation.
