A Log Cabin quilt block is a series of light and dark strips sewn together vertically and horizontally. The arrangement of color within each block and the way the blocks are sewn together allow many variations within the Log Cabin tradition. In this quilt the lights of one block are placed next to the lights of others, forming an overall diamond shape known as a Barn Raising pattern.
