Archive Label 2003: John Helm arrived at Kansas State University (then the Kansas State Agricultural College) in Manhattan, Kansas, in 1924. He was the driving force of the Friends of Art and made their first gift print in 1934. Helm also founded the permanent collection at Kansas State University, which is now the Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art. Helm was also a member of the Prairie Print Makers.
