Archive Label 2003: Charles Rogers, widely known as “the Kansan” was born in Great Bend, Kansas. Rogers was largely self-taught and even built his own etching press. He later received an M.F.A. from the College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California. He was a member of the Prairie Print Makers, taught at the California College of Arts and Crafts and at Kansas Wesleyan University, and was head of the School of Art at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas.
