Exhibition Label: "Windmills to Workshops: Lawrence and the Visual Arts," Jul-2004, Kate Meyer Dennis Helm was an important and beloved member of the Lawrence arts community until his death in 1992. A student of Robert Sudlow, Helm was known for his landscapes, portraits, his murals at Liberty Hall, and introspective figural works such as this sketch. He was a major advocate for Kansas’ art and artists.
