Exhibition Label: "Windmills to Workshops: Lawrence and the Visual Arts," Jul-2004, Kate Meyer A former student of Robert Sudlow, Keith Jacobshagen earned his M.F.A. from KU and now lives and works in eastern Nebraska. In Jacobshagen’s landscapes long stretches of countryside often meet a seemingly endless expanse of sky. Deftly suggested clouds and topography seem at once too beautiful to be real and instinctively authentic. The liquid quality of this monoprint prompts associations of memories blurred by time and details stripped to the essence of a particular place and moment.
